In-House Info/ Rules

Our In-House program is for both Boys and Girls split up between 4th-8th grade.  This program provide an opportunity for kids of all skill levels to play basketball in an enthusiastic and fun environment. 

IMPORTANT NOTE:
ALL players playing on a 5th Grade travel team are also REQUIRED to play in the In House Program, no exceptions. If you sign up for a 5th Grade travel team you are automatically registered for In House and do not need to sign up.



4th/5th In House 
includes one practice during the week and one game on Saturday. 

  • We combine the grades to create a group of equally skilled, balanced teams. 
  • Following registration we run a series of skills sessions from late October through mid-November prior to creating the teams. 
  • For 4th/5th, there is one practice per week per team. 
  • All games are held on Saturday mornings at the Watertown Middle School. 
  • The season runs from early December through to the first week of March

4th/5th Grade IN HOUSE League Rules:

  • Eight - 5 minute periods broken into two "halves" 
  • Running Time with the following exceptions:
    • Stop Time in the last minute of each half
    • Clock stops on a shooting foul until players are set, restarts when shooter receives the ball
  • Man to man defense only - No Double Teaming
  • No Full Court Press
    • Fall back to half court except for last minute of game
  • One timeout per game
  • Don't keep track of team fouls
    • Shooting fouls only in act of shooting with the following exception:
      • In last minute of game all non shooting fouls one and one.
  • Free throws player can start in front of line or jump over line with no violation
  • Playing time split equally according to Substitution sheet (attached)
  • Overtime is 1 minute stop. If no winner after 1st OT, go to 2nd OT,  "sudden death" will decide game in 3rd OT.
  • In Playoffs the following rules apply:
    • Overtime is 2 minutes
    • 1 Time out per team (no carryover from regulation)
    • Shooting fouls only in act of shooting with the following exception:
      • In last minute of OT all non shooting fouls one and one.
    • Stop Time last minute of OT
    • If 2nd OT required
      •  2nd OT is 1 minute Stop time
      • 1 Time out per team (no carryover from 1st OT)
      • All non shooting fouls one and one

6th/7th/8th (middle school) In house

  • We combine the grades to create a group of equally skilled, balanced teams.
  • Following registration we run a series of skills sessions from late October through mid-November prior to creating the teams.
  • For 6th/7th/8th, there are no practices.
  • All games are held on Saturday mornings at the Watertown Middle School.
  • The season runs from early December through to the first week of March
  • 6th/7th/8th uses the same rules as above except that the 6th/7th/8th graders play two 20 minute halves.
